What is the minimum of fabric that I can buy?
For classical fabric:
We sell the fabric by the half meter (the minimum quantity you can order per product being 1 meter). This gives you the possibility to order the right amount of fabric that you need. For instance, 0.50 meter is one item, so if you want to order 1 meter of fabric, you must add 2 items in your cart, if you want to buy 2 meters of fabric, you need to add 4 items, etc.
For ethnic fabric:
There is no minimum order as it is sold by piece.
I’m in love with your fabrics but I don’t live in the UAE, can I still buy them?
Unfortunately, we do not ship outside the UAE yet, we plan however to do so really soon! Keep up with us and you will not regret it!

You should receive your parcel within 1-3 working days.
What is Bogolan?
Bogolan or Bògòlanfini is a 100% handmade cotton fabric from Mali, Bogo meaning in Bambara "earth" or "mud" and lan meaning "with" or "by means of". The cloth is traditionally dyed with fermented mud and plant dyes. It is also known under the name of Mud cloth. It takes from four days to a week (depending on weather conditions) to create one Bogolan. The fermented mud used to paint on the Bogolan can leave a smell on the fabric. Do not worry, this is normal! You can either wash it really gently by hand in cold water or air it for few days.
What is Indigo?
Indigo fabric is originally a traditional cloth from the Dogon tribe in southwest Mali. It is one of the most popular fabrics of Africa. Symbolic of wealth and prosperity, this fabric is admired by many different cultures in Africa. The Indigo process is long and complex.
How can I wash my piece of Bogolan / Indigo?
Bogolan and Indigo are delicate fabrics. You can wash them gently by hand in cold water with a mild detergent. Some color might run out which is normal! However, as the dyes are natural and may wash out over time, dry cleaning is preferable. We recommend washing these fabrics only when necessary.
WARNING: The color of this product (Indigo) may transfer to other objects. Avoid making contact with light colored surfaces before the first washes.
What payment methods can I use?
You can pay either by debit/credit card, or by Cash On Delivery (COD), for UAE orders.
Can I order samples?

Why are the colors of my item are slightly different from the picture?
The color of fabrics as depicted online cannot be guaranteed due to variances beyond our control such as computer monitor settings or camera settings. But we do our best to showcase the most accurate color!
Oh no, I’ve ordered the wrong fabric! What can I do?
Unfortunately, we do not accept returns on any products. All purchases are final.
What if I have changed my mind and want to cancel my order?
We can cancel your order if the fabric still has not been cut. To do that, contact us immediately, otherwise it will be too late and we will not be able to cancel your order. If your order has been cancelled on time, we will refund the amount of money you paid, if you paid by credit/payment card.

Can I find organic fabric on your website?
Yes, you will find some organic fabric online. The organic fabric which is sold on our website is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified by our suppliers. It means that at least 95% of the textile contains certified organic fibers.
We take good care before passing an order to our supplier to check that they are on the GOTS-certified companies list and that their GOTS certificate is up to date. Because La Cotonnerie is not GOTS-certified, we are only allowed to sell this fabric as “organic fabric” but not under the GOTS label. You can be reassured that the organic fabric that you buy on our website is traceable.

Do you do free shipping?
Free local delivery is available for orders over 300 AED within the United Arab Emirates. Below this amount, the shipping fees are 26 AED. Remote area delivery charges within UAE will be 10 AED on top of basic delivery charges.
